Gift guideGifts for black cat lovers
Updated October 17, 2026
Black cat people are a specific and devoted group. Many of them live with one, defend them every October against old superstitions, and will happily tell you their cat’s full name. A cat-themed gift is a sure thing — as long as it looks like art rather than a novelty. Here are the cat designs we would pick, and how to choose between them.
Three kinds of cat design, three kinds of cat person
- Silhouette and moon cats: a black cat outlined against a crescent or full moon. Elegant, quiet, and works all year.
- Witchy cats: the familiar — a cat with a witch’s hat, under the stars, or in a cauldron-lit scene. Ideal for the friend who leans into tarot and moon phases.
- Cute cats: big-eyed kittens and pastel ghosts. Playful rather than dramatic; great for younger recipients or a lighter touch.
Moon cats and familiars
The lunar-eclipse black cat is one of our signature designs: a high-contrast familiar against a darkened moon. Alongside it, our Halloween-horror and celestial collections hold a run of crescent-moon cats and stargazing silhouettes that sit right between spooky and pretty.
Witchy and cute cats
For a lighter gift, the Cute Spooky collection has a tiny witch cat, a pastel ghostly kitten and a kitten in boots. For a witchier one, the crescent-moon cats in Celestial & Witchy pair a black cat with stars and moon phases.
Why black cats belong to Halloween
Black cats became a Halloween symbol through old European folklore that linked them with witches and bad luck. Today many cat lovers have flipped that around and celebrate black cats every October as the sleek, affectionate companions they are. A cat design is a nice way to celebrate the animal, not the superstition.
